Our Commitment to You

At Countacus, privacy is a core part of how we build, not a legal formality. We created this platform as small business owners ourselves, and we know how sensitive your financial data is. We treat your information the same way we would want ours treated.

This policy describes what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used. Last updated: May 20, 2026.

What We Collect

We collect only what's necessary to provide and improve Countacus:

• Account information you provide at sign-up (name, email address)
• Financial data you enter (transactions, amounts, categories, mileage logs)
• Basic usage data to help us understand how features are being used
• Device and browser type for compatibility and support purposes

What We Do Not Do

These are firm commitments, not marketing language:

• We do not sell your personal data to any third party, ever
• We do not share your personal financial data with advertisers or data brokers
• We do not use your data to serve you targeted ads
• We do not share your personal information with partners for their own marketing purposes

We do not currently share aggregated, non-personal information with third parties. However, we reserve the right to share aggregated, anonymized data (such as usage trends or statistical insights) with third parties in the future for purposes such as analytics, research, or product improvement. This information cannot be used to identify you individually, and we will update this policy and notify you before doing so.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to:

• Operate and deliver the Countacus service to you
• Improve features based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns
• Respond to your support requests
• Send product updates and service notices (you can opt out at any time)

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. Access is restricted to authorized Countacus team members only, and only where necessary to operate the service or respond to your support requests.

During Beta, your data will be preserved and migrated in full to our production environment at the conclusion of the Beta period.

Third-Party Services

We use a small number of trusted infrastructure providers (such as cloud hosting and error monitoring). These providers process data only on our behalf and under strict data processing agreements. They are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

By using the Receipt Scanning feature, you agree to allow us to process receipt data through Google's Gemini API. Google states that data submitted via paid Gemini API tiers is not stored or used to train their models, except temporarily for legal, regulatory, and service reliability purposes. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Export your data in a portable format

Updates to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you by email and update the "last updated" date above. Continued use of Countacus after such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
